Below you can find an overview of all upcoming ERC deadlines and ongoing evaluations, both confirmed and expected. This page was last updated in June 2024.
The European Research Council (ERC) has call deadlines for the following grant programmes, every year:
- ERC Starting Grant (StG) – deadline usually in autumn.
- ERC Consolidator Grant (CoG) – deadline usually in the winter.
- ERC Advanced Grant (AdG) – deadline usually late summer.
- ERC Synergy Grant (SyG) – deadline usually in late autumn.
- Several ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) deadlines, typically two or three throughout the year.
Importantly, the call identifiers (e.g. ERC-2025-StG) refer to the year in which the budget is allocated, not necessarily the year of the ERC grant deadline. In addition, ERC deadlines may change considerably around the adoption and announcement of novel framework programmes and work programmes.

NB: the above concerns indications, it is unclear whether the the 2025 and 2026 rounds will follow the scheduling as was usual in the years 2021-2023 or whether the schedule as initiated in 2024 will be maintained.
Other ERC initiatives
The European Research Council regularly launches special programmes, currently for example the ERC Science Journalism Initiative (FRONTIERS), with a next deadline at 25 September 2025.
